If the homeowner does not own the land on which the home is located, then the home is treated as personal property and is billed January 1 and the taxes are due April 1. The home must display a decal reflecting that current property taxes have been paid. After April 1st, the Tax Assessors will inspect all homes for the decal; if it is not displayed the homeowner will receive a citation per County Ordinance #98-10, 5--5-98 Section 2-4-45 and fines could apply.
Moving Into County
You have 30 days once the home has been moved to register with our office; simply bring in the title or proof the home is in your name and a current Henry County receipt proving the taxes are paid.
