Understanding Your 2023 Property Tax Bill

HTRG TAX RELIEF GRANT

Governor Kemp signed HB13 into law on March 13,  2023.

The Homestead Tax Relief Grant (HTRG) is a one-time tax exemption that will be applied to the 2023 property tax bill of homestead properties.

If you have qualifying homestead on your property for 2023 there is nothing you need to do.

The HTRG allows for an exemption of $18,000 in value after the homestead exemptions have been applied to School, M&O, County and City Taxes.

The actual credit depends on the district, current millage rate and the assessed value of the property after homestead is applied.

The HTRG credit does not apply to fees such as Stormwater, Streetlight, Sanitation or Bonds.
